As the Commission wraps up one of its flagship programs the Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Programme (YEEP) an AfBD funded, the TVET Image Campaign component that was managed by EFSL had a colorful celebration of the TVET Week on Wednesday 25th November at the Atlantic Hall, National Stadium.

Delivering the Keynote address on behalf of the Minister of Youth Affairs, the Commissioner of NAYCOM Ngolo Katta said, the government places high premium in skills development. He said gone are the days when skills training remains an imaginary thing in the minds of the trainees with little or no hands on practical.

He said with the establishment of the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education more gains have been made in TVET while highlighting the TVET Policy that was recently launched, ten TVET institutions across the country and plans to upgrade some TVET institutions into Universities where trainees can graduate with a Master or degree in TVET.

However, institutions as well as beneficiaries of the YEEP recommended that the TVET Week be a national annual event to showcase TVET and also expand the YEEP to other districts.
